Kangpokpi, December 23 2022:
Kuki National Front-Nehlun (KNF-N), a non-SoO Kuki militant outfit, has clarified that Johnny Khongsai (23), son of Seilun Khongsai of Motbung village, Kangpokpi, who was arrested by Bishnupur police commandos and 10 Assam Rifles, has no connection whatsoever with the outfit in-spite of the security forces branding him as its active cadre.
In a release, KNF-N information and publicity secretary Gou alias Kuki stated that it was the handiwork of one Thangminlen Haokip alias Roland Haokip, a non-registered cadre connected with KNO/KRA to tarnish the image of KNF-N.Roland Haokip used to deploy some of his 'boys' for extortion activities in the name of KNF-N and Johnny Khongsai is one among them who had been arrested four times by the security forces.
He further claimed that earlier, Roland Haokip also brought two drug-addicts who were LTT-surrendered cadres from somewhere else along with drugs and used them for extortion in the name of KNF-N by issuing side arms and later he (Roland Haokip) himself handed over the duo to the security forces.
Cautioning Roland Haokip to stop his sinister activities and attempt to tarnish the image of KNF-N and avoid harassment of the New Keithelmanbi area chiefs, Gou warned of taking up befitting action against Roland Haokip if he continues his activities.
