Interaction prog held, essential items distributed

Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) carried out an informal interaction to discuss the assistance required for upcoming Christmas week at HQ Veng in Churachandpur district on Thursday which was attended by second in-charge along with the company commander.
The discussion was focused on the events happening in upcoming Christmas week and assured of all types of assistance to make the events successful.
During the discussion a stock of orphanages in the Battalion AOR was also taken.
A total of 18 CSOs from Churachandpur district took part in the interaction, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
Meanwhile, Modi Battalion of IGAR (S) distributed essential items including books, sports equipment and stationery to the children of Ford Children Home for Boys at Machi in Tengnoupal district on Friday as part of Christmas celebrations.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event was attended by 15 children and 5 teachers of the school.
Interaction with children and school staff was also carried out over refreshments.
Chassad Battalion also distributed essential items to orphans residing in the vicinity of the Battalion at Battalion HQ at Chassad on Friday.
During the event, commandant of Serchhip Battalion interacted with orphans of Chassad and distributed sweets and blankets on the occasion of forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebration in sync with the festive spirit of the season.
A cake cutting ceremony was also organised to bring smiles on the faces of the children.
The noble gesture and sincere concern of Assam Rifles will go a long way in further consolidating the harmonious relationship prevalent between the locals and the Assam Rifles, the PRO said in another release.
