Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Th Satyabrata Singh, ministers Nemcha Kipgen and Awangbow Newmai, and other civil society organisations have extended warm and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Christmas which falls on December 25.In their messages, Th Satyabrata Singh, Nemcha Kipgen and Awangbow Newmai, Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS), Manipur Information and Public Relations assistant secretary Nerish Mangang, All Manipur Ethnical Socio-cultural Organisation (AMESCO) publicity secretary W Deepu and Meetei Christian Churches Council, Manipur president Mutum Ranjit Singh said that Christ Jesus sacrificed his life so that we could live an everlasting life on earth.
They also appealed to the people of Manipur to follow Christ's teachings of love, compassion and charity, with a firm commitment towards the welfare of the state and country.
Meanwhile, in connection with Christmas celebration, United Committee Manipur (UCM) presented shawls to the women vendors of Tribal market, New Checkon on Friday.
Christmas is one of the biggest festivals celebrated by Christians throughout the world and in connection with the festival UCM presented gifts to the women vendors of Tribal Market, New Checkon to spread the message of peace and unity, informed UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam while interacting with media persons.
