The Guite Kual Chiefs' Association today expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh for fulfilling the wishes of the people by appointing MCS grade I officer to the post of ADC Guite Kual.
In a release, the association urged all the government and non government entities to uphold the nomenclature which was dear to the local people.
"The Chief Minister had fulfilled his promise on 26th August, 2022 for amendment of MCS Rules, 1965 by way of encadrement of one post of MCS Grade-I for Additional Deputy Commissioner, Guite Kual and posting of S Khaikhopau Ngaihte, MCS to that post", it added.
The association also informed that the office of the ADC Guite Kual was created by the Government of Manipur via Gazette Order No 337, dated January 7, 2022 .
Guite Kual Chiefs' Association also expressed its disappointment that the nomenclature Guite Kual was omitted in the recent Government orders of encadrement and posting.
The association continued that the term Guite Kual is a nomenclature dear to the public as it was coined by the ancestors since time immemorial.
It encompasses a large area in southern Manipur where people of different tribes, cultures and dialects live together in peace and harmony.
"Taking note of this historical fact, the office of the ADC, Guite Kual was proposed through Vungzagin Valte, the then Minister (TA & Hills) and current MLA, 56- Thanlon A/C which was passed by the State Cabinet", it added.
"The recognition and endorsement of Guite Kual has instilled among the public a sense of acceptance and inclusion of tribal history and culture by the Government of Manipur", it added.
The association further appealed to all Government and Non-Governmental entities to uphold Gazette Order No 337, dated January 7, 2022 of the Government of Manipur.
