Seminar on welfare of PwDs organised

Kakching, December 23 2022:
National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Chennai, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Asha Kiran - Kumbirei village, Tengnoupal district jointly organised a district level seminar on 'Skills and responsibilities for grassroots level professionals' at JnNRUM community hall, Kakching Sumang Leikai on Thursday.
The inaugural function of the seminar was attended by Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar as chief guest while social welfare department deputy director (Disability) L Dhaneshwar and SDPO Kakching Konjengbam Gitchandra were the guests of honour.
In the technical session of the seminar, BB Paul Mental Home, Mongshangei special educators Supriya Paul, Nipuchandra and W Bimola spoke on the topics of 'Introduction to Skills and Responsibilities of Grassroots level Professionals', 'Developing Professionals from Grassroots level' and 'Reflecting Challenges and Problems for Grassroots level Professionals in regards to Disabilities' respectively.
NIEPMD, Chennai representative M Kathiravan, Asha Kiran-Kumbirei village executive director Ch Sonboi Aimol, Kakching District ASHA and Anganwadi workers took part in it.
Speaking at the programme, MLA Rameshwar highlighted the importance of the seminar and also stressed the need for ASHA and Anganwadi workers to strive for promoting healthy and developed society.
