Kangpokpi, December 23 2022:
The Kuki National Front-Nehlun (KNF-N), a non-SoO Kuki militant outfit has clarified that Johnny Khongsai (23), son of Seilun Khongsai of Motbung village, Kangpokpi who was arrested by Bishnupur Police Commando and 10 Assam Rifles has no connection with KNF-N despite the security forces claiming him to be an active cadre of the outfit.
In a release, Gou @ Kuki, information and publicity secretary of KNF-N alleged that it was the handiwork of one Thangminlen Haokip alias Roland Haokip, a non-registered cadre connected with the KNO/KRA to tarnish the image of KNF-N.He also claimed that Roland Haokip used to deploy some of his boys in extortion activities in the name of KNF-N and Johnny Khongsai has been arrested four times by the security forces.
He further claimed that earlier, Roland Haokip also brought two drug-addicted individuals who were LTT-surrendered cadres from somewhere else along with drugs and utilized them for extortion in the name of KNF-N by issuing small arms and later he (Roland Haokip) himself handed over the duo to the security forces.
The outfit then warned Roland Haokip to stop sinister activities to tarnish the image of KNF-N and avoid harassment towards the New Keithelmanbi area chiefs.
