Drugs seized

Imphal, October 14 2022:
A team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Manipur arrested one person along with 25 soap caps containing heroin and 18 bundles of WY tablets (each bundle containing about 2000 tablets) from the northern side of Kanglatongbi Bridge along Imphal-Dimapur road, yesterday.
The arrested person has been identified as Yumnam Sanahal Singh (57) of Irom Meijrao Mamang Leikai, Imphal West.
According to a well placed source, the NAB team, as part of War on Drug 2.0, carried out a search operation along the highway stretch, during which one car bearing Nagaland registration number (Maruti A -Star) was signalled to stop for verification.
After thorough checking , the NAB team found 25 soap caps containing heroin and 18 bundles of suspected WY tablets (each bundle containing about 2000 tablets and total being 36 thousand tablets) concealed inside the four doors of the car.
It is reported that the seized heroin weighs around 338 gram while the WY tablets weigh around 3.96 kgs.
Sanahal Singh was arrested along with the seized drugs, the car, one OPPO mobile phone with two SIM cards, one driving license, one debit card, one PAN card at around 4.30 pm, it added.
The NAB team also arrested an associate of Sanahal identified as Thiumei� Paul (51) of Lukhambi, Tamenglong.
The arrested persons and seized items were handed over to NAB-PS, Manipur.
A case has been registered for investigation.
