Seized IMFL, DIC liquor destroyed

Bishnupur, October 14 2022:
Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth more than Rs 20 lakh seized by Bishnupur excise station from a truck on October 6 along with DIC worth more than Rs 3 lakh seized during a series of drives conducted by the station recently have been destroyed using a JCB to crush the seized items in front of Bishnupur excise station office on Friday.
According to deputy superintendent of excise R Khumanjao Kabui, the seized liquor consignment was destroyed after getting approval from the excise commissioner under Section 69 of Manipur Liquor Prohibition Act, 1991.He said that the destroyed liquor was handed over to Bishnupur excise station by different units of the station and Bishnupur police commando.
Excise station Bishnupur SI O Surjit, OC M Nipama-cha, excise station Moirang OC M Kanhai, excise station Nambol OC Th Manofaja, additional SP (Ops) Bishnupur Roni Mayengbam and additional SP (law & order) Bishnupur Satyam Takhellambam witnessed destruction of liquor.
