Govt to renovate Shillong Rajbari: Rameshwor

Keirao MLA and Planning & Development Authority (PDA) chairman Lourembam Rameshwor said that the government would be renovating the historical Rajbari in Shillong and construct a Manipur Bhavan in the capital city of Meghalaya.
He was attending the 46th Freshers' cum Social Meet of Shillong Manipuri Students' Union (SMSU) held recently at the auditorium of State Central Library, Shillong.
ICCR Shillong regional director Ningthoujam Munish, NEIGRIHMS Transfusion Medicine officer Dr Lutika Nepram, State Sports Council, Meghalaya's retired senior project engineer Ibohal Kshetrimayum also attended the programme, as members of the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rameshwor pointed out that there are several Manipuri students studying in Meghalaya and many from Manipur are also visiting the state as tourists.
Considering the presence of Manipuris in Meghalaya, chief minister N Biren has been considering construction of a Manipur Bhavan in Shillong and now the state government has plan to do the same, he said and informing that the government will also renovate the Rajbari located at Red Land, Shillong, which is a historical place for the state.' Later, the MLA also visited Rajbari and took stock of the condition there.
