IBSD organises National seminar on 'Bioeconomy based entrepreneurship development'

The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India organized a National seminar on "Bioeconomy based entrepreneurship development with biotechnological interventions" jointly with The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Prayagraj (Allahabad) .
A press release by IBSD Imphal stated that the programme was addressed by several dignitaries from Government of India including Professor Manju Sharma, Former Secretary, DBT, Govt of India and Chairperson, NASI's New Initiatives, Professor Ajoy Ghatak, President, National Academy of Sciences, India.
During the programme, Professor Pulok K.Mukherjee, Director, IBSD highlighted various initiatives of IBSD for the development of bioeconomy from bioresources of Northeastern Region.
Professor Manju Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Director, IBSD and whole team for the initiative for the development of bioeconomy-based entrepreneurship in NER and stressed to focus on basic research on bioresources in IBSD.
Professor Arun Pandey, VC, Mansarovar Global University, Bhopal highlighted bioeconomy in the Indian context and Professor Ajoy Ghatak delivered the inaugural address.
Dr Renu Swaroop, Former Secretary, DBT, Govt of India shared her views about bioeconomy and bioresource based entrepreneurship development to boost the economy.
Many eminent speakers from different institutions across the country also participated in this event.
Many scientists, research scholars of IBSD, Imphal and other centres too attended the programme.
