Imphal, February 20 2022:
BJP Chandel Mandal has alleged misconduct and violent intention of Naga People's Front (NPF) in its campaign for the ensuing assembly election.
In a release, Chandel Mandal president Huten Changhring said that according to onlookers and video clips, NPF workers used sticks (lathis) and knives while conducting an unauthorised campaign on February 19 night at Unopat village, western valley area of Chandel.
The NPF workers also tore down posters and BJP flags erected at the houses of BJP supporters and destroyed private properties, he alleged.
Further claiming that NPF workers blocked the inter village road and allowed only its supporters to pass through while causing inconveniences to denizens of the area, Huten appealed to authorities concerned to intervene and allow peaceful campaign in 41 A/C Chandel.
