Imphal, July 19 2026:
The Tangkhul Aze Katamnao Long (TAKL) has served an ultimatum to the State Government and security authorities concerned to release Wungphayo Kasar, Ninglum Shimrah, Yaoreingam Lungleng and Diamond Ramror within 24 hours.
A press release issued by the TAKL said that their ultimatum comes into effect from 5 am on July 20 and shall expire at 5 am on July 21 .
If the Government fails to release the four individuals by 5 am of July 21, TAKL will launch an indefinite economic blockade along NH-202 (Imphal-Ukhrul road) .
According to the TAKL, the four individuals from Sharkaphung (Sikibung) village were allegedly arrested by security forces without any arrest warrant or informing the reasons for their detention.
Recalling the cross-border incursion and attack on the Naga villages of Namlee, Wanglee and Choro on May 7, 2026 by KNF-B militants, the TAKL has questioned why the Central Government has not yet taken any decisive action against the militants responsible for the incursion and attack.
It went on to ask why security forces have been targeting innocent Naga civilians instead.
It also mentioned the burning of houses in Litan and other Naga villages by Kuki militants, the abduction of six Naga civilians from Leilon Vaiphei by Kuki militants on May 13, 2026 and the subsequent barbaric murder and also the killing of an FCI truck driver at TM Kasom on May 29, 2026 .
