BJP, JD-U, NCP candidates hoist flag

Chief Minister N Biren on Monday attended the flag hoisting ceremony of Moirang AC BJP candidate M Prithviraj Singh held at the latter's residence in Moirang Kiyam Leikai.
Presided over by BJP Moirang Mandal president Md Soukat Ali, the ceremony was also attended by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister of Labour & Employment/Forest & Environment Bhupender Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Leisemba Sanajaoba, Khurai AC MLA L Susindro, and Bishnupur AC ex-MLA Govindas Konthoujam as guests of honour In his speech, candidate M Prithviraj urged all for making the upcoming elections free and fair.
Meanwhile, the flag hoisting ceremony of JD(U) candidate in Patsoi assembly constituency Wakabam Ibomcha washeld at his residence located at Takyel Khongbal on Monday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ibomcha contended that the state is moving backward instead of forward.
As such, he is contesting the election to bring development and positive changes in the constituency.
The ceremony was attended by his supporters and well-wishers.
Flag hoisting ceremony of NCP candidate from Sekmai assembly constituency Ningthoujam Popilal was also held on Monday at his Phayeng Mayai Leikai residence.
In his address, N Popilal stated that he is contesting the election to save Phayeng and Sekmai from the present political situation in the constituency.
Popilal said he has no ill-will towards the people who are working and speaking bad things about him.
Expressing concern over rampant corruption in the AC, Popilal wondered whether the corrupt people think that public could be purchased like vegetables.
Should people vote for those who even embezzled the rice released for Covid-19 pandemic, he asked.
