DHS Thoubal observes Anti Leprosy Day

Thoubal, February 21 2022:
As part of the Sparsh Leprosy Awareness cum Anti Leprosy Fortnight conducted from January 30 to February 13, District Health Society Thoubal on Monday observed Anti Leprosy Day at Conference Hall, CMO Complex, Thoubal.
It was attended by CMO Thoubal, Dr Y Nokul; District TB Officer, Dr P Pramodini Devi and District Malaria Officer, Dr L Joykumar as presidium members.
As part of the programme, floral tributes were paid to a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Y Nokul stated that World Leprosy Day is celebrated annually on January 30 to honor the contributions made by the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi towards leprosy.
Stating that leprosy is almost eliminated from the country, Dr Y Nokul informed that a total of 3 new infections have been reported in Thoubal district.
He further appealed to the public to provide their cooperation in the fight against the disease.
