PREPAK claims IED attack on ITBP team

Imphal, February 21 2022:
People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has claimed responsibility for the IED attack on a patrol team of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) near Wangoo Tera Lupa Marup in Kakching district on Sunday around 8 pm.
In a statement, the banned outfit informed that the special task force C of its Red Army planted two IEDs but only one exploded and it wounded two riflemen namely Girja Shanker (30), rifleman number CT/GD100330252 and Gaurab Rai (26), rifleman number CT/GD 130450477 both from Uttarakhand.
The attack was carried out as part of the boycott call given by CorCom against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Imphal in relation with the ensuing Assembly election, the statement maintained.
It further informed that the attack on Indian security forces was carried for the first time on March 26,1980 on an escort team of CRPF commandant Mishra by Red Army team of PREPAK.
In the attack, one Havildar was killed and two constables were injured while the red army team snatched one Sten gun and one 303 rifle.
The attack marked the beginning of armed warfare against Indian security forces.
The Red Army will continue such warfare against the security forces until the colonial rule is removed from Kangleipak (Manipur) .
The statement also urged the public not to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit while terming it as a part of colonial agenda.
