As a part of its continued campaign against drugs and other intoxicants, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised publicity campaign at different places in Imphal West district today on the 'Role of public to check the rampant use of intoxicants during polls' and also distributed pamphlets to the masses to spread awareness.
As per a press release by CADA, the publicity campaign was held at Khonghampat, Pheidingga, Awang Sekmai, Mayang Langjing, Lamsang, Sagolband Tera, Khumbong, Konthoujam, Hiyangthang, Samurou, Yumnam Huidrom, Mayang Imphal and Singjamei today.
It may be noted that CADA has ramped up its drive against drugs and other intoxicants in view of the unwanted incidents which have emerged owing to excessive use of intoxicants across the State in regards to the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Such a situation has created an atmosphere of unrest and violence in the State which is really unfortunate and if the situation persists and it goes out of hand, it will be difficult to save the people of the State, mainly youths from the clutch of drugs, added the press release.
Further CADA sought the support and cooperation from the public to save the current and future generation from the adverse impacts of substance abuse.
