Award distribution ceremony of short film festival held

The award distribution ceremony of the 2nd International Manipur Short Fiction Film Festival-2022 was held at MFSDS Hall today.
The 2nd International Manipur Short Fiction Film Festival-2022 was organised by IPAK Films Production Manipur under the aegis of Film Forum Manipur and is sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.
As a part of the programme, a souvenir was also released today.
Delivering the keynote address, convenor of IPAK Films Production Manipur, Rakesh Naorem said that the short film festival has been organised under the theme "Let's make Manipur drug free" .
He further informed that out of the 28 short films which participated in the festival, six films have been selected by a team of jury with RK Hemabati as the Chairman and Loitongbam Brajamohon, Haobam Pavankumar, Konsam Saroja and Sushil Yumlembam as the jury members to confer the awards.
Also a special event on songs based on nationalism will be organised soon by IPAK Films Production Manipur in co-ordination with Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) soon in a bid to encourage the upcoming singers of the State, he added.
The selected six films are 'Emagi Ebungo', 'Shangbannaba Atiya', 'Thawanmichak', 'Angouba Uful', 'Ibok' and 'Lambi' .
Speaking as the chief guest, Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, N Geoffrey stressed on the alarming situation owing to easy availability of drugs which have caused menace in the State.
Expressing concern over the issue of substance menace in the State, he appealed to all to make concerted efforts to check the issue.
While conducting drug awareness programmes, he urged all to address the issue from grass root level to ensure that the masses are well sensitized on the issue and to achieve the dream of a 'Drug free Manipur' .
The award distribution ceremony was also graced by S Mangoljao, Chairman of Film Forum Manipur and Ngangom Uttam Singh, Director of Social Welfare Department as the presidium members.
