NPO appeals for free & fair election

Naga Peoples Organisation (NPO), Senapati has appealed to all the intending candidates, political parties, workers and general public of Senapati district ensuring free, fair and smooth conduct of the forthcoming Assembly Election.
In a statement, NPO publicity Wing stated that the onus of conducting free and fair election is paramount for all.
In the run up to every election, there are hiccups, commotions and conflicts but in a democratic society free and fair election is one in which all eligible voters are able to exercise their franchise and cast their votes to candidates of their choice.
It's a fundamental right and has to be respected.
Every right thinking individuals must reflect that the free expression of will of the people must be respected.
Coercing and involvement of armed groups and anti-social elements need to be kept at bay for the smooth conduct of election and to maintain a peaceful environment.
Activities focussed on facilitating every citizen's participation in a free, fair and inclusive electoral process is the need of the hour, it mentioned.
Stating that the recent incident in which NPF Youth Wing Mao AC president Losii Arow of Tobuni was intimated by armed miscreants on the night of February 18 has dented the spirit of a free and fair election, NPO said and condemned the incident in the strongest term.
NPO further reiterated that it reached out to all the sections of the society to avoid any form of violence in the interest of ensuring free, fair and smooth conduct of the upcoming elections in the district.
