Keirao MLA Rameshwar helps farmers in distress

Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwar along with members of Salaicha Pibarel Punsi Marup visited the two farmers in Thoubal district, whose ready-to-harvest paddy crops were found burnt by unknown miscreants, and extended assistance in the form of cash and 20 sacks of paddy to them on Friday.
The MLA and his team visited Moirangthem Nabachandra of Khangabok Part 1 Awang Leikai and Saikhom Itomcha of Khangabok Part 3 Makha Leikai on Friday morning and provided the assistance.
During the visit, Nabachandra's wife Bina narrated her ordeals and expressed her suspicion of a person with whom she had some argument over a spot for catching fish by laying dip net (in) on the edge of her paddy farm.
She expressed gratitude to the MLA, who came all the way from Keirao to help her family in such dire situation and conveyed her best wishes to the MLA.
Stating how a farmer toils hard for the season s harvest and how burning the paddy plants just be fore reaping the benefit affects the farmer financially and emotionally, the family appealed to the police department to investigate the incident and award befitting punishment to the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, MLA Rameshwar said that he came to know about the incident from media report.
As soon as he received the information, he spoke with the chief minister and came to provide some relief with the approval of the CM.
He also said that the Biren government is always ready to help people in distress.
The MLA further said that the relief materials were contributed by members of Salaicha Pibarel Punsi Marup, and assured that the organisation will help people in distress in future too.
Chief minister N Biren had instructed SP Thoubal to investigate the incidents thoroughly and arrest those responsible for the inhumane crime.
As per report from the SP, investigation had already begun and the district police is confident of arresting the culprits soon, the MLA added.
