Book release function held

A book release function was held at the conference hall of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU-RCM) today organised by the Department of Social Work, IGNTU-RCM.
Two books authored by Dr Kamei Beeju of the Department were released during the function.
Professor Ng Ngalengnam, Director, IGNTU-RCM and Professor Sanjay Das, Head of Department of Computer Science, IGNTU-RCM graced the occasion as the presidium members, said a press release by the Department of Social Work of the varsity.
While introducing her first book, entitled, "Bold and Beautiful Haipei Rani Gaindinliu" (New Delhi: Sunmarg, 2022), Dr Kamei stated, "The book explores the legacy of Rani Gaindinliu in terms of her valiant struggles for the Naga people's independence and the cause of the Zeliangrong".
She added that the Rani stands as an ultimate symbol of hope and inspiration for the struggling people across the world.
Regarding her second book titled, "Women Street Vendors and Livelihood of Zeliangrong Nagas in Manipur" (New Delhi: Sunmarg, 2022), the author remarked that the book was an outcome of a research project sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science and Research, New Delhi.
The work largely focuses on women street vendors in Tamenglong District of Manipur.
The dignitaries while speaking at the occasion, lauded Dr Kamei's relentless contribution to the knowledge domain and for encouraging reading habits amongst the people irrespective of disciplines by bringing out such works.
They also expressed belief that scholars academicians, and the general public would immensely benefit from the new insights provided in these two books.
