SH-ADC conducts 'Triple C exam

Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SHADC), Kangpokpi has scripted history by introducing a "Centralised Combined Competitive" or the "Triple C" examination to improve its education system.
The Examination was conducted on Friday at Keithelmanbi Junior High School, Champhai, and Kanggui Christian College, Kangpokpi town.
According to SHADC chief executive officer James Dou-japao Haokip, the brainchild behind the examination, "Triple C" was introduced in tune with the state government's "School Fagathansi" mission and conducted under the supervision of TA & Hills minister and additional chief secretary (TA & Hills) .
Around 1000 students from 190 schools under SHADC, Kangpokpi participated in the examination.
Speaking on the sidelines of the examination, CEO James informed that the need to motivate and strengthen the education system of Sadar Hills ADC was felt strongly after thorough inspection of schools and that resulted in the introduction of the Centralised Combined Compefitive Examination.
The examination was actually planned for classes I-VIII but conducted only for classes III and V for this year due limitations of transportation and infrastructure constraints, he explained.
The CEO said that results of the Triple C examination will be declared very soon and a prize distribution function held in the first or second week of December.
The first, second and third position holders in the Triple C examination will be awarded cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000, respectively, along with a certificate each while overall three best schools will be awarded Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 and a certificate each, apart from an award (Rs 7000) for best assistant inspector.
The CEO was accompanied by Kangpokpi Town Committee chairman Angara Leivon and inspector of schools (SHADC) Chinnu Kipgen, town supervisor Haochon Haokip and other staff during the inspection of the examination at the two centres.
