MLA Shyam stresses early completion of water supply schemes

Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam has advised officials of the PHED to do the needful for ensuring early completion of new water supply schemes taken up under the Har Ghar Jal Scheme and sponsored by New Development Bank (NDB) in the Langthabal assembly constituency.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of augmentation of Lilong Chajing, Chajing Karam and Lilong Haoreibi water supply schemes organised by Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Imphal West Division at Lilong Chajing water supply scheme, Tapokpi on Wednesday, MLA Karam Shyam informed that the projects will be executed by Keystone Infra Private Limited and Bishnu Prakash Private Limited as work agencies.
He stated that the work agencies have assured that these projects will be completed within one year, while adding that he had requested them, if possible, to complete the projects before the stipulated time.
Observing that unavailability of potable water is a big problem, Karam Shyam said that he has been pressing the government to upgrade the water supply schemes in Langthabal AC for a long time.
He continued that now Canchipur water supply scheme project has been completed and will very soon start providing water.
The MLA mentioned that Lilong Chajing water supply scheme will be built at a cost of Rs 14 crore, Chajing Karam water supply scheme at Rs 6.62 crore and Lilong Haoreibi water supply scheme at Rs 5.97 Crore.
He also stressed that the projects should be constructed at war footing and public should extend their fullest cooperation towards completion of the projects.
The programme was also attended by social worker B Brajamohon, PHED Imphal West executive engineer N Shanjitkumar, Key Stone Infra Private Limited project director Rama Singh and W Kunjakishore as presidium members.
