No room for service extension in Education Department: S Rajen

Education Minister S Rajen Singh has stated that there is no room for service extension in the Education Department.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of a 2-day State level workshop on "Assessment and Accreditation of Colleges" at DM College of Teacher Education today, the Minister stated that extension of service for the Government employees discourages junior colleagues as it suppresses promotion for junior staff.
Rajen also said that colleges in Manipur are not performing well in NAAC scoring.
Saying that NEP 2020, on the other hand, has brought a new dimension in the education sector in the country, the Minister maintained that a State level task and sub task force have been constituted for successful implementation of NEP in Manipur.
He urged both the teaching and non teaching staff of schools and colleges to be punctual and work with utmost dedication and sincerity and added that the Government is committed to address the grievances of the employees of the Education department.
M Harekrishna, Commissioner Hr & Tech Education; Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, Director, University & Hr Education and Dr Priya Narayanan, Asst Advisor NAAC Bengaluru too attended the function.
