State logs one death, 31 new cases

Imphal, December 01 2021:
The state on Wednesday reported one death case and 31 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 1929 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The daily test positivity rate remains below 2 per cent for three consecutive days with Wednesday reporting 1.61 per cent.
The lone death case reported on Wednesday was an unvaccinated resident of imphal East.
With this, the total number of fatalities has reached 1978.The active caseload came down to 659 out of which only 51 (7.74 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Wednesday with Imphal West logging highest cases at 19.In terms of positivity rate too, Imphal West district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 3.2 per cent while Thoubal district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.5 per cent.
So far, the state has recorded 95,836 positive cases and 1604 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 190 new cases and 13 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 31 new positive cases (18 male & 13 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (27) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (7), Imphal West (19), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Senapati (1) and Ukhrul.
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 20 patients were discharged from home isolation (4), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (10) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 125,236 (general population - 1,20,805 and CAPF personnel - 4,431) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,599 (generalpopulation - 1,18,237 and CAPF personnel - 4,362) and number of active cases is 659 (general population - 595 and CAPF personnel - 64) .
The recovery rate is 97.89 per cent.
A total of 305 D-type and 85 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 8486 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,82,955 including 8,76,759 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,884), Imphal East (27,795), Thoubal (9478), Churachandpur (10182), Kangpokpi (2787), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9203), Senapati (2242), Ukhrul (2995), Kakching (6438), Chandel (2356), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (662), Imphal East (472), Thoubal (177), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,360 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,727 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,57,872 tests per million population against the national average of 4,59,141 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1929 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.61 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.81 per cent.
