Shillong Lajong FC thrash AIM, enter final of Shirui Lily Cup

Shillong Lajong FC thrashed AIM 5-0 in a semifinal match to become the first team to enter the final stage of the ongoing 29th Shirui Lily Cup 2021 tournament at TNL Ground in Ukhrul town.
In the semifinal match played between the two teams on Wednesday, Jersey No 6 Tremiki scored the first goal in the 27th minute in favour of Shillong Lajong FC, followed by two goals in favour of Shillong Lajong FC from Jersey No 8 Gaddy N in the 30th minute and Jersey No 17 in the 35th minute.
Undaunted by the three goals, Jersey No 10 Lungoulen attempted to steer the match to a semblance of parity with a goal in favour of AIM in the 40th minute before the first half wrapped up.
However, in the second half, the visiting team Shillong Lajong FC literally eclipsed AIM.
Jersey No 6 Tremiki and Jersey No 8 Gaddy N made another score each in favour of Shillong Lajong FC in the 69th minute and 74th minute to eliminate AIM in the nail biting semifinal match.
In the quarterfinal match on November 30, KLASA FC beat the visiting team from Nagaland New Market FC 4-0, securing their position to take on TRAU FC in a semifinal clash on December 2.Shillong Lajong FC are now poised to face off with the winning team of the semifinal match to be plaved between KLASA FC and TRAU FC on December 2 .
The final showdown of the national level tournament is scheduled for December 4 .
