AR organises HIV/AIDS Awareness Drive

Assam Rifles Noney Battalion of 22 Sector IGAR (East) organised an HIV/AIDS Awareness Drive at Kaibianpang village in Noney district on Wednesday in connection with observance of World AIDS Day.
The HIV/AIDS Awareness Drive was conducted with an aim to make the locals aware about various aspects of the disease and educative video on the same screened for the villagers.
The medical representative of the AR Battalion explained to the villagers in their own dialect and also shared extra information over the topic for easy understanding and also shared information about how HIV can and cannot transmit, its protection and preventive measures and how to protect oneself and others from the disease.
Educative pamphlets on the disease were also distributed and a brief question and answer session was conducted at the end of the awareness programme to clear any doubts of villagers on the disease.
Youth and members of all age groups of the village actively participated in the drive which also provided an opportunity for the troops to interact with young minds and address their queries regarding various employment opportunities in different sectors including the Armed Forces.
During the event, the troops educated the villagers about the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 and how to protect oneself with available resources.
Covid-19 SoP and guidelines were strictly followed during the aware ness drive and masks were also distributed to the participants.
