CCpur police call for deposition of arms

Churachandpur, December 01 2021:
Churachandpur District police has appealed to all license-arms holders in the district to deposit their guns by December 20, 2021 failing which their license will be liable for cancellation.
A notice issued on Wednesday by Lawrence K Munluo, Additional SP (Ops) stated that the list of all deposited arm licenses will be submitted to the District Magistrate after December 20 and thereafter defaulters are likely to get their licenses cancelled without further notice.
It may be mentioned that the district police have been repeatedly appealing to the public to submit or deposit the license guns to the nearest police station in view of the upcoming assembly poll.
As of December 1, about 50 percent of the 1957 license arms registered in the district have either been collected or deposited to the police.
945 arms are still pending for deposition.
Meanwhile, CCpur district police have also cautioned the locals from venturing into forest in order to avoid collateral damage in view of the recent ambush at Behiang area.
