One dies, 31 test positive

One more person died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1978 .
The victim belonging to Imphal East had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated, according to a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
Meanwhile, 31 people were confirmed positive at RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (27) out of 1,929 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours which puts the daily positivity rate at 1.6 per cent.
The 31 people who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (7), Imphal West (19), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Senapati (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
Imphal West recorded the highest positivity rate at 3.2 per cent followed by Imphal East and Ukhrul, both logging 2.2 per cent each.
Following recovery, 20 Covid-19 positive people were discharged today from home isolation (4), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (10), informed a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,236 (general population 1,20,805 and Central security personnel 4,431) .
It includes 659 active cases (general population 595 and Central security personnel 64) and 1,22,599 recovered cases (general population 1,18,237 and Central security personnel 4,362) .
The recovery rate as on Wednesday is 97.89 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 305 D-type oxygen cylinders and 85 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Tuesday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 21,59,714 (first dose 12,82,955 and second dose 8,76,759) .
It includes 8486 doses administered yesterday.
Till yesterday, 65.18 per cent of the State's total population had been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 44.54 per cent had received both the first and second doses.
