One held for murder attempt

One individual allegedly involved in attempting to murder a truck driver by slitting the driver's throat has been arrested by police.
Accused Md Daulat Khan (27) s/o Sikander of Yairipok Ngariyan was arrested by a team of Mayang Imphal police station yesterday.
Truck driver Milan Khawas who was transporting sand from Dimapur was abandoned at Mayang Imphal Bengoon Lamhang (near local market shed) after his throat was slit by some unidentified men in the night of October 26.Milan Khawas (24) of Chuchekhopi, Irang Part-I, Kangpokpi district is currently undergoing treatment at RIMS.
Daulat Khan was arrested in connection with the incident, sources said.
Meanwhile the All Manipur Drivers Association (MDA), All Manipur Gorkha Drivers and Owners Association, Senapati District Truck Drivers union, Senapati District Truck Owners Association, All Manipur Gorkha Students Union and the All Manipur Gorkha Welfare Association have lauded police for pulling up an accused in connection with the attempt to murder Milan.
Speaking to media persons on behalf of these organisations at Kwakeithel this afternoon, MDA assistant secretary Khundongbam Sangitcharan conveyed gratitude to the Imphal West SP and the OC of Mayang Imphal police station for taking up necessary action promptly in connection with the murder attempt.
He then appealed to the authorities concerned to pull up all culprits involved in the incident and ensure that they get befitting punishment as per law.
