Thang-Ta awareness programme organised

Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee organised an awareness programme on Thang-Ta at Nongpok Maheikol, Brahmapur Aribam Leikai today.
The awareness programme was organised as a part of the ongoing month-long Thang-Ta Day observation organised by the Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee under the aegis of Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) under the theme 'Thang-Ta For An Ethical Way of Living', said a press note by the Committee.
Kh Kunjo Singh, Administrator of Nongpok Maheikol; Leitanthem Dhamendro, Chairman of Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee and B Bilky Sharma, KIMACS vice-president attended the programme as the presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, Leitanthem Dhamendro emphasized on the importance of acquiring knowledge apart from the academic knowledge to have a better understanding of the society.
He further maintained that one should pursue education not only to get a government job but to contribute in building a developed society and a better future.
He also highlighted the need of learning about the culture and tradition of one's own society inorder to lead a disciplined and progressive life.
