National Unity Day observed at Kakching, Tamenglong

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was Observed by Kakching district administration at DC complex, Kakching.
As part of the observance, Unity Run from Kakching Bazar to DC complex was organised with the participation of students and district level officials.
Deputy commissioner Somorjit Salam led the gathering at the NIC Hall in paying floral tributes to the portrait of Sardar Patel.
The DC also administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to the participants comprising DLOs, students, teachers and staff of the district administration.
Meanwhile, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised an oath taking ceremony followed by march-past parade at Tamenglong town and a Unity Run at Azuiram village to observe National Unity Day on Monday.
In a release, PRO Defence informed that the event started from unit headquarters in Tamenglong town where rich floral tributes were paid to the Tron Man of India' by the Unit commandant.
The participants of the march-past traversed through the main market of the town, spreading the message of unity, peace and prosperity through community participation, it added.
The release continued that a 'Run for Unity' was also Organised for the youth at Azuiram Post of the unit.
Around 45 students including 20 girls took part in the run, which was followed by the pledge taking ceremony.
