KWS Guwahati celebrates silver jubilee

Kuki Worship Service (KWS), Guwahati celebrated its Silver Jubilee at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati on Sunday.
In a release, KWSG Silver Jubilee Celebration Committee 2022 Media Team member Dr Haoginlen Chongloi informed the event marked the second such celebration after its formal session held on November 17 at KWS Church with the dedication of Jubilee Plaque by reverend M Haokhothong at its Church campus located at VIP Road, Guwahati.
The celebration based on the theme 'For we are the sweet aroma of Christ' witnessed participation of Kukis from all walks of life in Guwahati including reverend bishop Paothang Haokip, reverend Dino Touthang, reverend Dr Jangkholam Haokip and DP Haokip besides several church leaders and representatives from various branches of KWS across the country.
The Committee conveyed that a souvenir publication which coincides with the event was also released during the celebration.
The idea of KWS came into being to cater the spiritual needs of Kukis living in cities across the country.
With the same principle, KWS Guwahati was started in 1997 .
Presently, almost all prominent cities of India have KWS branches, all under Council of Kuki Worship Service, a non-denominational organisation of churches among the Kukis, it further mentioned.
