Imphal, November 27 2022:
A walk to spread awareness on the tourism potential of the State was carried out as a part of the ongoing Sangai Festival yesterday.
Around 20 members of Khongmee, an organisation which aims for tourism promotion in the State took part in the walk which was flagged off from Kangla Lanban by Sinam Pritam, advisor of Khongmee.
The walk was carried out for around 53 kilometres and culminated at Sangai Ethnic Park, Moirang Khunou which is one of the major venues for ongoing Sangai Festival.
Speaking at the occasion, S Pritam said that Khongmee has been striving earnestly to promote tourism in the State and had organised similar activities earlier including a walk at Shirui Festival and Kongba Maru.
Maintaining that resources are limited in Manipur, he said that if the tourism sector is developed to its full potential, it will subsequently enhance the economy of Manipur.
