Sheetal, Apao claim State indigenous wrestling titles

Senapati, November 27 2022:
Ningthoujam Sheetal Singh and Apao Tho emerged champions in the Manipur State Indigenous Wrestling Championship 2022 organised by Senapati District Wrestling Association Manipur and hosted by Makhrelui village.
Ningthoujam Sheetal Singh of Mayang Imphal won the 65kg and above category to walk home with Rs 1 lakh in prize money and a certificate.
Rakovei Liimai (Phuba Khuman), who finished second to receive Rs 70,000 and a certificate.
L Moses (Saranamai) bagged the third position to receive Rs 50,000 and a certificate and the fourth-placed M Pavei (Saranamai) got Rs 30,000 and a certificate.
Four other wrestlers in the 65kg and above category who received a consolation prize of Rs 5000 each were Kh Sholyavei Domai (Saranamai), PS Kholourai (Tungjoy), Ng Siipuni Leadson (Maiba) and A Veytelou (Tungjoy) .
In 65kg below category, Apao Tho (Tungjoy), s/o Tho, emerged as the champion and received Rs 1 lakh and a certificate.
M Dai Zhoh (Zhobumai) bagged the second prize of Rs 70,000 and a certificate, SK Veilou (Ngairi Raidulomai) bagged the third place (Rs 50,000 and a certificate) and Doveilou Dovih (Zhobumai) bagged the fourth place (Rs 30,000 and a certificate).
The consolation prizes (Rs 5000 each) were given to D Daiveihrii , SH Veikhole, S Khuveilou and SL Raisakho.
