Sports kits distributed; aid extended to accident victim

Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed sports equipment to Chelep village under Military Civic Action Project in a bid to inculcate a love for sports and nurture the local talent along with promoting the growth and development at grass root levels.
The aim of the event was to nurture the budding talent in the region, said a PRO IGAR (S) release, adding that the villagers expressed their gratitude and appreciated the Assam Rifles for such gestures.
Meanwhile, Joupi Battalion of IGAR (South) reportedly provided medical assistance to a villager of Molkon village in Chandel district who had an accident on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), around 5.30 pm, a 'Kundagrahi' going towards Sugnu fell down the road between Joupi and Mom-bi.
The co-driver of the vehicle Ngam (25) jumped from the vehicle to save himself but suffered a head injury, fracture in left elbow and bruises on his limbs.
He was brought to unit MI room of Joupi Battalion by the locals at around 7.45 pm where he was immediately given medical assistance by unit chief medical officer.
After stabilising his condition, he was referred to Jivan Hospital, Kakching for necessary CT scan and further treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was found later by the locals and directly taken to Sugnu for medical treatment.
The villagers expressed their gratitude the unit for immediate medical treatment given to the victim.
