MP CM praises Biren; PM to address closing event

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Manipur Sangai Festival 2022 and for the development of the state while addressing the gathering as chief guest at the cultural evening of Manipur Sangai Festival at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre, Palace Compound, here, on Sunday.
Pointing out various similarities between Madhya Pradesh and Manipur in many forms, he informed that many students from Manipur are pursuing education in his state and his government is taking up initiatives for their safety and well-being.
He also spoke of the beauty of Manipur, its weather, cuisines and sporting talent of the people.
The Madhya Pradesh CM appreciated the far-sighted vision of N Biren and his initiatives of taking the state towards development.
He expressed hope that Manipur would become one of the best tourism destinations in India in the coming years under the leadership of CM Biren.
He also invited the people of Manipur to visit his state.
Chief Minister N Biren, while delivering his speech, stated that central leaders, who had visited the state to attend the Sangai Festival, praised the people of the state for their hospitality and discipline.
The leaders were also amazed by the beauty of the state.
Union minister of tourism, culture and DoN-ER G Kishan Reddy, touched by the beauty of the Sangai Ethnic Park, had assured of providing financial assistance to the tune of Rs 100 crore to further beautify the park and the Sagol Kangjei Statue at Marjing by adding more modern amenities and creating a unique blend of heritage and modernity.
The union minister asked the state government to submit proposal for the project, he disclosed.
Biren further stated that the state government has been working to take the state towards development and with the support of the people, is making significant progress in every held.
He also said that central leaders have always been providing support to the state for various development works.
The main highlights of the cultural evening included cultural dances performed by different cultural troupes and artistes from within and outside the state.
The cultural evening was also attended by ministers, MP, MLAs, chief secretary, DGP and senior officials of the state government & paramilitary forces as well as other invitees from outside the state.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be speaking at the closing function of the Festival on November 30.Previously, it was assumed that President Droupadi Murmu or Prime Minister Narendra Modi would attend the inaugural function of the Sangai Festival.
However, the idea was dropped due to unavoidable circumstances and Tourism & Culture/DoNER union minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the festival at Moirang Khunou in Bishnupur district.
