Flash mob, street play re-enact human trafficking

Imphal, November 07 2022:
In addition to a flash mob, a street play on the theme of human trafficking was organised as part of 'empowerment of citizens through legal awareness and outreach' campaign of National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) at the complex of High Court of Manipur, Chingmeirong on Monday.
District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West organised the campaign under the aegis of High Court Legal Services Committee.
High Court chief justice PV Sanjay Kumar, justice A Bimol, justice Swati, High Court registrar general Golmei Gaiphulshillu, Imphal West district and sessions judge A Gunesh war attended the event as members of the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, chief justice PV Sanjay Kumar explained that the campaign was organised to create awareness on human trafficking.
The flash mob and the street play present a visual demonstration on how human trafficking takes place in the actual world and inform the public about what they can do to help victims of human trafficking or avoid becoming victims of such crimes, he said.
The chief justice also hailed the innovative idea of creating awareness through street play instead of just relying on pamphlets.
People generally do not want to get involved in such issues but a helpline number is being circulated so that people can inform about any human trafficking cases, he said while urging the public to support in the fight against human trafficking.
