Jiribam, November 07 2022: Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Jiribam district in association with District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Imphal East/Jiribam organised a one-day sensitisation programme for stakeholders on 'Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012', and 'Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006' at Hilghat community hall, here on Monday.

Jiribam CWC chairman Mutum Maipaksana, ASP Emanuel L Fimate and JMIC Bonny Laishram attended the event as presidium members.

CWC member secretary advocate L Romen spoke on 'Issue and Challenges in POCSO Act'; member Nellee Roy on 'Overview of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) Amendment Act, 2021 and Rules'; and chairman M Maipaksana on 'Prohibition of Child Marriage & Role of CWC' as resource persons.

Officials of police department, anganwadi workers and teachers from different schools participated in the programme.
