Imphal, November 07 2022:
As part of its drive to check entry of illegal outsiders into the state, Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) rounded up 15 non-locals with expired Inner Line Permit (ILP) passes from Friends' Colony, Mantripukhri on Monday and handed them over to Heingang PS.
In this regard, MMWO president Khorimayum Boby said that the organisation is carrying out the drive in support of the initiative of the government to prevent entry of outsiders into Manipur without complying with due process.
During the drive on Monday, 15 non-locals were found in possession of expired ILP passes and handed them over to Heingang PS for taking up appropriate legal action.
He then appealed to landlords to check the documentations of potential tenants, especially those who have come from outside, while further urging the landlords to extend support to the drive.
