Florence Nightingale Award : Three nurses from Manipur crowned

Imphal, November 07 2022:
President Droupadi Murmu has presented the Florence Nightingale Award 2021 to three nurses from Manipur today.
The three women who have been given the award are Wairokpam Hemabati Devi, Thaimei Sanahanbi and Takhellambam Helena Devi.
Wairokpam Hemabati Devi was selected for the award in the LHV category.
Thaimei Sanahanbi was conferred with the award under ANM category.
Takhellambam Helena Devi was selected for the award in the Nurse category.
They were among 51 professionals who received the award at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
The awards were presented in recognition for their works by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India.

Now District Health Nursing Officer at District Hospital Kakching, Wairokpam Hemabati Devi, then Female Health Supervisor at Lilong Primary Health Centre, has served people in her professional capacity for more than three decades with great dedication, commitment, enthusiasm, compassion and professionalism.
She has also implemented various National health programmes at various places in Manipur, which are hard to reach.
As a real Covid warrior, she took great part in fighting the pandemic along with others.
The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
