X-Polo, CPC storm into polo semis

X-Polo Club (Wangkhei) and Chingkheihunba Polo Club (Kongpal) both earned a smooth passage to the semifinals of the 36th N Hazari & Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2022 on Monday.
L Atangba's heroics propelled X-Polo Club to a thumping 12-3 victory against K&MMRS-A (Singjamei) on their way to the last four.
The Wangkhei side trailed in the first chukker after the Singjamei squad struck twice to take a 2-1 advantage.
L Kokeshwor Singh was the scorer for X-Polo.
However, the X-Polo riders proved too strong for K&M-MRS-A to handle in the next chukker.
L Atangba was unstoppable as he singlehandedly hammered five goals and put his team firmly in control of the game.
X-Polo continued their scoring spree in the third chukker with Atangba claiming two more goals, coupled with one apiece from L Tolongkhomba and P Ojit Singh.
On the other hand, K&MMRS found their third goal through W Johny.
X-Polo collected two more goals in the fourth chukker courtesy of Tolongkhomba and P Ojit to ensure their smooth entry to the semifinals.
The second quarterfinal contest saw Chingkheihunba Polo Club ease to a 7 - 3 win over Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club.
Thangmeiband YPC took a 3-1 lead in the first chukker with S Saolin scoring twice and Th Nongpoknganba getting one for the team, while L Thomson Singh converted for Chingkheihunba PC.
In the second chukker, Chingkheihunba PC made it all square after Th Kaoba Singh and L Thomson, his second, were on target.
Then Chingkheihunba PC turned the tables on their opponents in the third chukker with a double from Th Kaoba.
They claimed two more goals in the fourth chukker through Th Basanta and O Rozer to wrap up the victory.
