Touching upon the subject of social security for women, he mentioned the Central Government's "Beti bachao beti padhao" social security plan which aimed to educate the girl child and shape their own future.
He said that in order to ensure the plan's success requires massive cooperation from the public.
Further, the Vice-Chancellor spoke about the "Vocal for Local" security scheme which sought to give a platform to entrepreneurs to display their talents and businesses to a larger audience.
Professor N Joykumar also addressed the gathering and stated that Khongnangthaba University is a relatively new private university which will contribute towards improving the education sector of Manipur.
Meanwhile Dr Otojit Kshetrimayum, Fellow & Co-ordinator, Centre for North East India, VV Giri National Labour Institute presented the keynote address.
He stated that the objective of the training programme is to raise participants' understanding of social protection and livelihood security concerns in the North East.
The program's major goals are to familiarise participants with notions of social protection and livelihood security through micro-level experiments around the country, including entrepreneurship and skill development, he maintained.
The programme's objective is also to involve the Government and other social partners in establishing rural livelihood protection programmes, added Dr Otojit Kshetrimayum during his keynote address.
