Jiribam, February 20 2022:
A one-day political conference of Indian National Congress organised by Jiribam Block Congress Committee (JBCC) was held at Ahmedabad here on Sunday.
Speaking at the conference as chief guest, South Karimganj, Assam MLA Siddeque Ahmed claimed that the BJP creates division among the people of India based on religion, but the Congress never plays such dirty games with the people.
Stressing that Congress is a secular party which focuses on the development of nation, he appealed to the people of Jiribam to give their mandate in favour of Congress and help in bringing development in Jiribam.
"You have seen, since independence Congress has brought lots of development in the nation," he said.
Siddeque Ahmed continued that since the PM Narendra Modi led BJP government came to power, it has only given false commitments to the people of India and advised BJP leaders to refrain from telling lies.
Siddeque also took a swipe at sitting MLA Ashab Uddin and asked how many times he has changed the party after getting the mandate of people in the last election.
He pointed out that the condition of road in Jiribam is so deplorable, which indicates that development in the area remains unseen by the local MLA and the BJP.
The programme was also attended by JBCC president Kh Shanti Kumar along with others.
