Will respond to violent attacks with democratic power: Conrad

NPP national president Conrad K Sangma has said that answer to violent attacks being carried out against NPP candidates and workers by other political parties at several places of the state will be given with democratic power.
The NPP president stated this while addressing a reception ceremony organised in his honour at the residence of NPP candidate for Patsoi AC RK Rameshwar Singh on Sunday.
Conrad said that violent attacks are being carried out against NPP candidates and workers but NPP does not fear these attacks and will give fittingly response to the political parties which are carrying out the attacks with democratic power.
Answer to these attacks will naturally come once counting of votes begins, he added.
While asserting that NPP is a one of the biggest political parties for North East states, the Meghalaya CM appealed to people to raise one voice of the North East people in the Parliament.
He also said that states of the North East are not lagging behind other states of the country and youth of the region could compete with their counterparts in other parts of the country, he added.
The event was also attended by deputy CM Yumnam Joykumar.
Later, Conrad Sangma attended flag hoisting ceremony of party's candidate for Keirao AC Md Nasiruddin Khan alias Boiboi and reiterated that NPP will be emerge as the single largest party in the upcoming election and form the next government.
Conrad said that NPP has been campaigning in Manipur since the past 20 years and the party has been taking its responsibility on various issues concerning people of Manipur and North East.
He also said that it was only NPP which raised strong voice to the Centre against AFSPA, CAB and other big issues concerning the region and the party is gaining strength day by day in Manipur in view of party's dedication to the people of the state.
In his speech, Nasiruddin Khan vowed to give special emphasis on education, medical, transport and infrastructure development if elected in the upcoming election.
The flag hoisting ceremony was also attended by Meghalaya deputy CM Prestone Tynsong and deputy CM Y Joykumar apart from many NPP leaders.
