ICAR organises field day

A field day was organized by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chandel on rice at Mantripantha village, Chandel district under All India Coordinated Research Project on soil test crop response (STCR) .
Under this programme, inputs on rice seed and recommended dose of fertilizers were distributed during the stating of the season to the farmers to see the response on targeted yield, informed a statement.
The programme was attended by Dr Deepak Singh, Programme Coordinator, KVK Chandel and Dr MA Ansari (Scientist) Agronomy and Programme Investigator (PI) of this project, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal.
They have given due emphasis for maintenance of soil fertility for maximization of targeted yield of crops.
They also highlighted that imbalance fertilization is not only the cause for the reduction of yield but also deterioration of soil fertility and advised farmers to apply recommended dose of fertilizers through organic and inorganic fertilizers.
The response of fertilizers clearly reflected on the performance and yield of rice field.
Altogether 40 farmers participated in the field day programme.
The field day was facilitated and coordinated by Ts Leenda Monsang, Assistant Chief Technical Officer (Plant Breeding), Krishi Vigyan Kendra Chandel, the statement said.
