Heart screening held
A two-day free heart screening camp was organised by Manipur Heart Foundation (MHF) in association with Sky Hospital and Research Centre and RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya from yesterday at RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya (junior section), Asha Jina Complex, North AOC.
According to a statement, 297 students attended the heart screening camp.
Four students were referred to Sky Hospital for further investigation where free ECG, Echo and blood sugar test will be provided.
Ningol Chakkouba prog
The 27 Assam Rifles organised a Ningol Chakkouba programme at Kadamtala, Jiribam, reports our correspondent.
The programme was attended by women leaders of Jiribam.
Gambling dens busted
After being informed of some people indulging in gambling at various places of Jiribam, Jiribam police busted the gambling dens.
The gamblers, however, managed to escape from the spots.
Dices recovered from the spots were destoyed by the police.
Aid extended
Monetary assistance was extended today by Kekru Yairi Club and members of Social Warriors, Manipur to Keisham Memcha Devi whose house located at Yairipok Kekru Mathak Leikai was reduced to ashes in a fire yesterday evening, reports our correspondent.
Kangla Fort Board informs
The Kangla Fort Board has informed all concerned that students of schools/colleges) will not be permitted to visit Kangla Fort before 1 pm on any visiting day without prior permission with immediate effect and until further orders.
AMMSO urges
The All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) has alleged various mismanagements of ZEO Zone III Thoubal.
In a statement, AMMSO urged the authority concerned to look into the affairs of the ZEO and rectify the mess.
It also warned of launching agitation if the authority concerned fails to do the needful at the earliest.

Troops of 20 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) retrieved an Alto car (MN01S 6327) that fell into a gorge near Navodaya Vidyalaya at Liwa Khullen village on Chandel-Pallel road yesterday.
Troops of Assam Rifles rushed to the location along with recovery equipment and pulled up the vehicle.
Passengers were given first aid by the medical team of 20 Assam Rifles at the accident site.
However, the individuals travelling in the vehicle sustained no major injury, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
Interaction
24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) conducted an interaction with the womenfolk of Shaibol village yesterday.
Women representatives of various organisations were present during the informative and fruitful interactive session, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
They were briefed about various women related welfare schemes being undertaken by the Government.
Safety of women, encouragement for the independent livelihood and awareness about various laws recently enacted by the Government for the women's safety were the main focus of the interaction.
