Imphal, November 07 2015 :
Though it has been a little more than one year since communal BJP came to power at the Centre, large sections of the country's population are apprehensive about possible disintegration of the country.
For this very reason, BJP should not be allowed to take roots on the soil of Manipur, asserted Chief Minister O Ibobi.
He was speaking at a political conference of Congress candidate in Thongju AC Bijoy Koijam held at Khong-man Zone III today under the aegis of the Khongman Development Committee.
He categorically stated that BJP should not be allowed to gain strength under any circumstances.
Return of awards given to eminent writers of the country one after another is a clear indication that citizens of the country are opposed to BJP's governance characterised by communalism.
No such ugly situation was seen in any part of the country when Congress was in power at the Centre.

Reminding about BJP's promise ahead of the last Lok Sabha election to bring back black money deposited in foreign banks, Ibobi asked whether the BJP-led Government has succeeded in bringing back any amount of black money.
Now people have realized how BJP hoodwinked voters by making impressive but unrealistic promises.
Congress party has been ruling the State for the third consecutive term because people love Congress party and they have faith in the party.
The by-election was not invited by the Government.
It has been necessitated by the wrongdoings of the MLAs who got disqualified.
He appealed to all the voters not to elect candidates who are immature and see politics as a business enterprise.
Stating that the Government has no inclination towards wasting time, Ibobi informed that the State Government would present a detail account of all the development works it undertook during the past five years.
He then appealed to the voters of Thongju AC to elect Congress candidate Bijoy Koijam in order to make up development deficits in the next one year which could not be done in the past three years and six months.
Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai and MLA O Landhoni were also present at the political conference.
