Tamenglong ADC members meet central leaders

A team comprising of Tamenglong Autonomous District Council (ADC) members led by Chairman Namsinrei Panmei met various central leaders and apprise them on the current situation of Manipur.
The team members include the ADC Vice Chairman with three members and Naga Peoples Front (NPF) State Unit President N Awangbou.
According to K Liangpibou, spokesman of ADC Tamenglong, the delegation held meetings with the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh; DONER Minister Dr Jitendra Singh; Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju; Interlocutor on Indo-Naga Peace Talk RN Ravi; Special Secretary of Finance, Government of India AN Jha and Secretaries of Various Ministry of Tribal Affairs respectively.
The delegation had highlighted the "pitiable plight" of the ADCs in Manipur especially funding shortages and briefed the central leaders on the limitation of funds obtained for the ADCs as per the provisions under Articles 275(1) while meeting the Special Secretary Finance, Government of India.
The delegation also apprised the Union Ministers and the Secretary that there were 26 ADC departments as per District Council Amendment Act, there had been no devolution of power.
"All the realities and the misappropriation of funds under MNREGS Schemes greatly surprised the union ministers and the secretaries.
The delegation returned home with assurances from the Union leaders to look into various grievances of ADCs not only in Manipur but in the others States facing the same difficulties", the delegation stated.
The delegation has also expressed gratitude to the NDA Government under the leadership of Narendra Modiji for signing the framework Agreement with the NSCN (IM) and urged the Government of India to expedite the peace process and bring about final solution which was "honourable and acceptable" .
