Imphal, November 07 2015 :
The High Court of Manipur issued a show cause notice to DGP cum Commandant of General Home Guards, Manipur and Commandant of Home Guards (VA), Manipur asking as to why the contempt of Court proceedings should not be initiated against them for non-compliance with the Court order regarding recall of Md Abdul-hei, Bn Commander Thoubal.
Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association filed a writ petition challenging the October 7, 2015 order of the authority concerned wherein Md Abdul-hei was recalled to duty again, said a statement issued by Advocate T Tamphamani.
Md Abdulhei had been earlier struck off from the list of Home Guards vide Government order dated 11-10-2012 after holding an enquiry in view of his various misconducts.
However, he was brought to service by a Government order issued on November 28 the same year.
Again on September 29 this year, Abdulhei was struck off from the enrolment strength of Home Guard because of his various illegal activities while functioning as Battalion Commander including deduction of Rs 2000 each from 243 Home Guard personnel every month and misappropriation of duty allowances etc without any authority.
However, he was again reinstated on October 7 this year.
After Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association filed a writ petition challenging this order, the Court suspended the Abdulhei's recall into service on October 13 this year.
However, despite this Court order, the authority concerned allowed to continue Abdulhei's service that prompted the Court to issue show cause notice to the authorities concerned.
