Imphal, March 18 2024:
The Imagi Meira has categorically stated that the Kuki aggression has not stopped yet even though there was a brief lull for a couple of days.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Imagi Meira media coordinator P Ranibala said that armed Kukis attacked unarmed Meitei sand miners on Sunday too and three labourers survived the attack by providence.
Asking why the Government has been sitting silently when three members of the Pambei-led UNLF were arrested without giving any convincing reason, Ranibla decried the Government's attempt to feign ignorance over the matter.
The arrest of the three leaders at a time when the people are expecting a lot from the peace agreement the particular outfit signed with the Government of India ought to be condemned in the strongest terms.

"On behalf of all the mothers, I would like to ask the Government to which direction it would lead all those youngsters who have been guarding Meitei villages day and night from the relentless Kuki aggression, away from the comfort of their home.
What will the Government do for them?" she said.
Manipur mothers still have the courage to fight as vanguards if their tolerance is stretched repeatedly beyond the tolerable limits, she asserted.
When the people are worried about the fate of Manipur, election notification has been issued and some parties have started campaigns for the election.
If the youth who have been struggling to defend the integrity of Manipur are called back to join the election campaigns, who would defend Manipur, Ranibala asked.
It appears that some people have been trying to immerse all the youngsters in the election campaign and let them forget or overlook the relentless Kuki aggression, she remarked.
She appealed to all the Meira Paibis to keep vigil at their respective localities and turn away election campaigners politely.
The issue of the 10 MLAs who have been conspiring to disintegrate Manipur has been hushed up within the State Assembly, she said.
Flatly rejecting the Chief Minister's proud claim that talks have been initiated to bring an end to the violent crisis, the 10 MLAs unambiguously declared that they never met or talked with the Chief Minister on the crisis, Ranibala remarked before asking the Chief Minister and the State Government if they have any answer to this rebuttal.
She said that people's faith in the Government has been diminishing day by day.
With the elections approaching fast, the authorities have been working to seize licensed guns from citizens, she observed before pointing out that the Kukis launched their offensive soon after the Government impounded almost all licensed guns earlier.
It would be impossible for the village volunteers to fight against heavily armed Kukis without weapons.
The authorities must think twice on the fate of Manipur if the citizens are now allowed to defend themselves and their villages from the Kuki onslaught, she continued.
She appealed to the Government to work in line with the wishes and aspirations of the people.
